Irun - Expogrow 2016, The French Speaking Hemp Fair

Expogrow is one of the most important fairs in the cannabis industry. Its main asset is the high level of its International Social Forum, its meetings between professionals in the sector and its range of music and activities. The unique cannabis event in Europe….

…. celebrates its 5th edition CE WEEKEND (September 16, 17 and 18) a few steps from Hendaye station (64), with a program designed for and with France. While there are other professional Cannabis meetings in Europe, none have the size or profile of Expogrow. Its slogan announces it very clearly: Much more than a Hemp Fair. For the more than 17 visitors last year, 000% of whom were French, this is an indisputable truth.

Expogrow 2016, Much more than a Hemp Fair, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and it has been ambitious for the occasion. The exhibition area has been enlarged from 3 to 4 pavilions and the infrastructure of the outdoor area has been improved. Expogrow in Irun much more than a hemp fair. Added to this is a strong participation with more than 175 companies, more than 700 Spanish and international professionals as well as more than 150 accredited media.

In just five years, the Fair has managed to become a key event in the cannabis industry.

Several French companies have already understood the issue and they travel to the other side of the border every year to open their market: General Hydroponics Europe (GHE), Bio Technology, Mama Publishing, Horticoled, French Touch Seeds, Secret Jardin, L'Or Vert, Auto Pot, Bionicled, Terralba, Univert, BiosmoZ and even the collective of Canabiers du Midi hemp trees. These companies are clearly betting on coming to Expogrow, knowing that this is the event to make their business flourish.

The entire world of cannabis is present in this event, the youngest of its kind but has already taken its place among the best fairs in Europe. This is also due in large part to the militant branch of this event, the International Social Forum around Cannabis and its parallel programming.

Ana María Gazmuri

The Chilean Ana María Gazmuri is one of the last announced guests. A specialist in drug policies, she has worked in this field since 2012 as part of the Daya Foundation, of which she is a founding member. This foundation specializes in the research and promotion of alternative therapies and natural treatments. As an actress and communicator, Gazmuri works closely with medical cannabis in an institutional setting in her country as well as abroad.

In this Anti-prohibitionist framework and with the emphasis on culture, the sector and the community of users, mujeresconnabicas.org aims to create a network of women users and / or professionally related to the cannabis sector and the reform of drug policies of the Spanish state. In addition, this network aims to increase the visibility and encourage the active participation of women in the different aspects of cannabis culture and industry.

The driving force of this new feminist movement did not want to miss the opportunity to bring together its associates and those loyal to Expogrow. Among its most imminent objectives are the denunciation of sexism, the inequalities and discriminations experienced by women personally or professionally linked to cannabis; promote greater recognition and visibility of a feminine cannabis culture for and by women.

The novelties of cannabis in terms of its medical and therapeutic use as well as its responsible regulation are the central themes of this year's debates. For this the Forum receives many experts in the field such as Hanka Gabrielova (Hemp Point), Dra. Bareket Schiff-Keren (Tel Aviv Medical Center), Raúl Elizalde (Asoc.por Grace), or Araceli Manjón-Cabeza (Complutense University of Madrid) to name a few.

Visitors and professionals will also have a good time with the Festival de Musique. This year the marquee will receive Spanish artists such as El Langui, Muchachito and Tomasito for a festive atmosphere, the ragga-dub of the young French prodigy Biga Ranx, the hip-hop blues of Scarecrow, the new voice of the female reggae Sara Lugo, the talented Inna Modja or the eclectic Ogun Afrobeat. All this ambiancé by the sets of two Djs, Dj Víctor Santana and Dj Don Cornelius (Miguel Caamaño, Radio 3).

Never to be bored, Expogrow's parallel activities complement an already busy schedule. Other features include slackline, graffiti, free fall simulator, humorous show, Dub stage, exclusive presentation of two new seeds sponsored by Zatu from Sfdk and El Langui respectively.

The V Cannabis Cup and its Awards Gala is one of the most awaited activities by professionals. For months the jury debated to determine which will be the award-winning banks in each category. The Gala will be presented by a true MC, Zatu of Sfdk, accompanied by the famous animated Mario character of MariaPlantis.

Indeed it is much more than a Hemp Fair since French media like Libération, Le Point or Le Nouvel Observateur, among others, have already spoken about this event which brings together during the second weekend of September more than 800 professionals, a few 180 brands and specialized companies and a general public expected from 20 000 people in 2016.
