Thanks to a particularly well thought-out business strategy, Snoop Dogg now owns shares in the world's largest growing company
When it comes to weed, Snoop Dogg puts his money where it belongs. It is now shareholder of Canopy Growth, the world's largest cannabis cultivation company. Now this Canadian company will have exclusive rights to Snoop Dogg's own cannabis company, Leafs by Snoop. Here's a look at the deal that gets everyone talking.
Did you know that Snoop Dogg has its own Weed line?
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadaus Jr., is one of the best representatives of cannabis. So much so that alone Willie Nelson could exceed it. The rapper has even released a collection booklet of his songs smokable.
Not only does a strain carry his name, but he also possesses his own line of products. In 2015, Snoop Dogg founded Leafs by Snoop in Colorado. We find Leafs by Snoop in this state and, very soon, everywhere in Canada.
In addition to his rap career, Snoop Dogg has also led numerous cannabis investments through his venture capital firm, Casa Verde Capital. In this way, Snoop helps companies linked to cannabis industry laboratories, financial services and technological innovations, to raise funds. In March, Casa Verde raised more than $ 40 million.
Snoop becomes an even bigger player in the cannabis business
Now Snoop turns his gaze to one of the largest legal cannabis markets in the world: Canada. A few years ago, Casa Verde partnered with Tweed Inc., an Ontario-based medical cannabis producer. Since then, Canopy Growth, a company that supplies one-third of Canada's medical cannabis needs according to Business Insider, has bought Tweed.
With legalization, Canopy Growth is expanding. This company has signed an agreement with the producer SunSelect Produce. Together they form BC Tweed, a company located in British Columbia. This separate entity will take ownership of one of SunSelect's pre-existing facilities and build a new one. The second facility, located in Langley, British Columbia, will have an impressive 12 hectares.
All of this means that Snoop Dogg will be participating in the world's largest grow operation. Not only that, but he can have a say in Canopy Growth's business plan. Ted Chung, director of “Snoop”, has been its strategic advisor since 2017.
Canopy Growth will have exclusive rights to the “Snoop” brand
The largest producer of medical cannabis in Canada will also own Leafs by Snoop. In addition to Snoop's branding as a weed connoisseur, they will also produce the specific Leafs by Snoop strains.
The Leafs by Snoop product line includes weed, wax, gelatins, chocolate bars and a variety of other sweets (all in a stylish package).
Snoop owns shares in the world's largest growing company.
Snoop Dogg came onto the scene with The Chronic, and decades later he's still one step ahead of cannabis. Converted to Rastafarianism, he is now working in the development of a quality medical cannabis culture.
It was thought impossible, but Snoop Dogg has become an even more important cannabis icon.
