How to prepare a good cupcake

Cannabis cupcake recipe for all occasions

There are few things in life that are as universally appreciated as a good cupcake. All like space cake, cupcakes come in a variety of flavors, sizes, and formulas, depending on the sweetness effect you're looking for. Giving a boost to your desserts with canna cupcakes, there is no limit.

For best results, use room temperature butter and eggs for cooking, never melt the butter unless the recipe calls for it. This will make it much easier to cream the butter with the other ingredients (whipping them together until smooth and creamy). If the butter is firm, you can microwave it for 10 seconds to soften it slightly.

For the cupcakes, you will need:

Ingredients and equipment: Let your eggs sit for at least 30 minutes before starting the recipe so they are at room temperature. You can place them in a bowl of hot water for 10 minutes to heat them up.

  • 1 1/4 cups (187 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons (3,25g) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (2.5g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (150g) white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons (90 g) cannabis-infused butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable or canola oil
  • 15 ml (1 1/2 tsp) vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (155 ml) milk

For the cupcake frosting, you will need:

  • 1 cup (225 g) of marrakesh butter at room temperature
  • 4 cups (520g) icing/powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) vanilla
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons (30 to 45 ml) milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon (.125g) salt food coloring (optional) decorations – sprinkles, crushed cookies, etc. (optional)

A stand mixer: There's a bit of mixing involved in this recipe, so a stand mixer or hand mixer works just fine. You can also mix the ingredients by hand using a whisk and spatula.

Cupcake molds: We highly recommend using cupcake molds to prepare these cakes, even for non-stick cupcake pans; cakes cook on bottom and edges of pan and can be very difficult to remove.

How to make herb cupcakes

Step 1: Preparation

Preheat the oven to 176°C (350°F) and prepare your molds by lightly buttering them.

Step 2: Mix the dry ingredients

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl or container. Set them aside.

Step 3: Mix the butter, oil and vanilla.

In a large bowl, place your Marrakech butter with the oil and vanilla. Mix vigorously until a creamy consistency is obtained.

Step 4: Add the eggs

To this mixture, add the eggs one by one, taking care to beat them well after each addition, so that they are well incorporated into your dough.

Step 5: Add half of the dry ingredients

Incorporate half of the flour mixture using your whisk or with an electric mixer on medium speed.

Step 6: Add the milk

Slowly add the milk, while continuing to whisk your mixture but more lightly.

Step 7: Add the rest of the flour

Finally, add the rest of the flour until fully incorporated.

Step 8: Fill the cupcake molds

Using a spoon, divide your batter into your 12 cupcake tins. Bake them in the oven for 15 to 18 minutes at 176°C. You can prick your cake with a toothpick to make sure it is cooked properly. If it comes out moist, you need to cook it for a few more minutes. If it comes out dry, your cupcake is fully baked.

When finished baking, place the baked cupcakes on a wire rack to cool completely.

Preparing the cupcake frosting

You will need a large bowl to make the frosting.

Step 1: Beat the butter

Put the butter in the bowl and beat it on high speed until it becomes creamy.

Step 2: Add sugar, milk and salt (and coloring)

Add 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk and 1/8 teaspoon salt and beat on medium speed until well blended and smooth. Then add the rest of the powdered sugar and milk. If you are adding color to the frosting, add a few drops now. Beat well until the frosting is smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Decorate the cupcakes

Frost the cannabis cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula. Decorate them if you wish. Sprinkles, crushed cookies, or even grated chocolate are all great ideas.
