Is full spectrum CBD oil more effective than that containing CBD isolate?
The CBD oil extracted from high yielding cannabis species contains all the other cannabinoids and plant ingredients. It is shown to be more effective in treating epilepsy, more than oil containing 99% CBD isolate. Why ? What are the differences between full spectrum CBD oil (Full Spectrum) and CBD oil (99% isolate)?
What is full spectrum CBD oil?
Full Spectrum CBD Oil is the pure oil that is extracted from hemp and contains all of the compounds found in the original hemp plant. This type ofoil is completely pure and contains an arrangement of cannabinoids and other essential minerals, vitamins, proteins, fatty acids, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids and fibers.
The composition of full spectrum CBD oil
Full Spectrum CBD Oil contains a set of effective compounds:
- cannabinol (CBN)
- cannabigerol (CBG)
- cannabichromene (CBC)
- - terpenes include Limonene, Pinene, Linalool, Caryophyllene, Humulene.
- Vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, C and E as well as complex B vitamins.
- Fats and essential proteins such as omega 3 and omega 6.
What is CBD isolate?
If we take simple words, then full spectrum hemp oil is the purest form of hemp oil. While CBD isolate is the crystalline form of hemp oil. In the form of crystals, CBD is separated from other cannabinoids found in hemp. The long-lasting isolation of Cannabidiol is one of the purest forms of CBD.
This extraction is done mainly from the cannabis plant, thus obtaining the CBD in its purest form. It is then purified and then cooled in order to remove the excess waxes. Which in the end produces a beautiful powder of white color, containing 99% pure Cannabidiol. Products that contain CBD will be labeled as 99% pure, as CBD is isolated from other compounds.
When'crystalline isolate is infused with terpenes, it's called Terposlates. CBD can be taken directly or can be added to a drink. And even used in cooking or even applied topically.
If we compare these two types of CBD oil, the main difference is in their forms. Full Spectrum is the crude oil extracted from hemp oil, along with all other compounds. While CBD oil is the crystalline form of CBD.
If we consider the composition of full spectrum CBD oil, it will include all of the compounds found in hemp at certain concentrations such as CBD, CBN, CBG, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. On the other hand, we consider the isolate form of CBD, separated from all the other compounds present in hemp oil, we will obtain 99% of the purest form of CBD. It is considered to be more effective than full spectrum CBD oil, but ...
Full Spectrum CBD Oil for Epilepsy Treatment
However, new research shows that hemp oil contains all of the other cannabinoids in cannabis (not including THC) to be even more effective in treating epilepsy. The results were discovered by Brazilian researchers who studied the effects of CBD, between 2013 and 2017 on patients with epilepsy. The results were published in the Frontier Journal of Neurology.
According to the study, 71 people, a proportion of patients treated with the full spectrum oil extracts, reported improvement in their condition. Compared to just 36 in those treated with pure CBD oil. Full spectrum CBD oil works with endocannabinoids (small molecules that activate cannabinoid receptors).
On the other hand, using the 99% isolate delivers most of the CBD. So each type of oil only depends on how you use it. These two CBD oils are beneficial in so many ways.
