A study conducted by researchers from the Department of Medicine at the University of Manitoba in Canada examined the effects of a synthetic cannabinoid called Nabilone on 12 patients, who reported a significant reduction in muscle spasticity.
Another survey performed by 2007, this time by the Swiss Center for Spinal Cord Lesions, examined the impact of THC on muscle spasticity. The researchers evaluated 25 patients with spinal cord injury, all of whom received oral THC.
Patients reported relief of muscle spasticity after THC treatment, so the researchers concluded that THC is indeed an effective and safe treatment for muscle spasticity.

When your bladder is full, the brain communicates with the spinal cord to relax the sphincter muscle, and once this message is sent, the urine passes through the body. But in 2001, the Swiss Center for Spinal Cord Lesions led a survey to evaluate how cannabis can be beneficial for overactive bladder caused by spinal cord injury. Patients received THC rectally or orally over a period of 6 weeks.
