Is full-spectrum CBD oil more effective than that containing CBD isolate?
CBD oil extracted from high yield cannabis species contains all other cannabinoids and plant ingredients. It is more effective in the treatment of epilepsy, more than the oil containing the CBD isolate 99%. Why ? What are the differences between full spectrum CBD oil (Full Spectrum) and CBD oil (99% isolate)?
What is full spectrum CBD oil?
CBD full spectrum oil is pure oil that is extracted from hemp and contains all the compounds found in the original hemp plant. This type ofoil is completely pure and contains an arrangement of cannabinoids and other essential minerals, vitamins, proteins, fatty acids, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids and fibers.
CBD (cannabidiol) is abundant in broad spectrum (Full Spectrum CBD) oil. It is a non-psychoactive compound that has proven to be beneficial in many ways. CBD makes up to 90% of the cannabinoid content in full spectrum CBD oil. If you consume CBD Full Spectrum, you will benefit greatly from the "Entourage Effect". When all cannabinoids and terpenes work in synergy to produce the specific effect.
The composition of full spectrum CBD oil
Full spectrum CBD oil contains a set of effective compounds:
- cannabinol (CBN)
- cannabigerol (CBG)
- cannabichromene (CBC)
- For terpenes include Limonene, Pinene, Linalool, Caryophyllene, Humulene.
- Vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, C and E as well as complex B vitamins.
- Fats and essential proteins such as omega 3 and omega 6.
What is CBD isolate?
If we take simple words, then full-spectrum hemp oil is the purest form of hemp oil. While the CBD isolate is the crystalline form of hemp oil. In the form of crystals, CBD is separated from other cannabinoids found in hemp. The long-term isolation of Cannabidiol is one of the purest forms of CBD.
This extraction is done essentially from the cannabis plant, thus obtaining the CBD in its purest form. It is then purified and cooled to remove excess waxes. What in the end produces a beautiful white powder, containing 99% pure Cannabidiol. Products that contain CBD will be labeled as being 99% pure because CBD is isolated from other compounds.
When'crystalline isolate is infused with terpenes, it's called Terposlates. CBD can be taken directly or can be added to a drink. And even used in cooking or even applied topically.
If we compare these two types of CBD oil, the main difference comes in their forms. Full Spectrum is the crude oil extracted from hemp oil, along with all other compounds. While CBD oil is the crystalline form of CBD.
Considering the composition of the full spectrum CBD oil, it will include all the compounds present in hemp at certain concentrations such as CBD, CBN, CBG, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. On the other hand, we consider the CBD isolate form, separated from all other compounds present in hemp oil, we get 99% of the purest form of CBD. It is considered more effective than full spectrum CBD oil, but ...
Full spectrum CBD oil in the treatment of epilepsy
However, new research shows that hemp oil contains all the other cannabis cannabinoids (not to mention the THC) is even more effective in the treatment of epilepsy. The results were discovered by Brazilian researchers who studied the effects of CBD, between 2013 and 2017 on patients with epilepsy. The results were published in the Frontier Journal of Neurology.
According to the study, 71 people, a proportion of patients treated with full-spectrum oil extracts, reported an improvement in their condition. Compared to only 36 in those treated with pure CBD oil. Full-spectrum CBD oil works with endocannabinoids (small molecules that activate cannabinoid receptors).
On the other hand, the use of the 99% isolate delivers most of the CBD. So, each type of oil depends solely on the use you make of it. Both of these CBD oils are beneficial in many ways.
