Update on the new salivary test in France

Salivary cannabis test

A new salivary test "no prior cause" against cannabis and drugs driving, landed in France

New salivary tests landed against drugs while driving. So-called salivary tests without "prior cause" ... That is to say, the law has changed the conditions for drug testing while driving. Salivary tests may be required, even in the absence of offense ... These new tests are faster than the previous ones. And the unusual convictions too ...

Simplified analysis of drugs while driving

Positive narcotics screening (on the roadside) had to be confirmed by a blood test. Now, case of positive resultsthe police will be able to carry out a second saliva sample ... Then they will send it to a toxicology testing laboratory.

This second salivary analysis will definitively determine whether there are traces of narcotics or not. This novelty is intended to simplify police procedures. And in another register, it will avoid the driver to move to the hospital for a blood test ...

An accelerated procedure

These "new generation" kits are intended to increase the number of narcotics controls. But also to speed up the judicial proceedings. These new tests faster than the previous ones, will be according to Le Parisiensent " in the coming weeks, at police stations and gendarmerie brigades. The police should be able to detect in minutes whether a driver has used cannabis, cocaine, opiates, ecstasy or amphetamines ... While these last tests were only in number 100.000 per year against 11 million for alcohol tests per year, it seems obvious that the new generation is here to increase the number of offenses.

As a reminder, for a positive drug control, a motorist risks two years in prison, a six-point withdrawal from driving license and a fine up to 4.500 euros. The Macron Laws should soften this, but only by the introduction of contraventions. We still do not know it will be the application for cannabis driving (probably negative ...), but for drugs and alcohol it will remain unchanged.

Without "prior cause"

In addition, even in the absence of an offense, drivers may be subjected to saliva testing for narcotics. " The police can carry out these tests, even in the absence of a traffic accident, an offense or plausible reasons to suspect the use of narcotics. »

Even in case of good behavior ...

Thus, the police will no longer need a "prior cause" to test drivers. And if you are a Sunday smoker, or a very reasonable person, this will take you to default ...

Unusual

Mentalities change in France ... For example, the morning of 19 July 2017, a driving instructor took his student to the gendarmerie Couëron during a class. Indeed, according to West France, the latter does not mark any stop and engages in a forbidden direction after having refused the priority to two pedestrians. A behavior that does not fail to arouse the suspicions of the instructor who accompanies ...

A monitor at the service of the Police ...

Frightened by the conduct of his pupil, she imposed a new route to him: direction the gendarmerie Couëron near Nantes. Thus the police conduct the screening ... The young driver is forced to confess "have used cannabis in the past night and have slept little ". This young driver should not ride behind the wheel of a car for a little while ...

Short…

Strangely, we still have nothing concrete about these millions of motorists who drive under the influence of benzodiazepines and anti depressants ... Moreover the machine perfectly distinguishes the difference between methadone, morphine and heroin ... Knowing that a big dose of methadone can be quite restrictive at the wheel ...

The icing on the cake, cannabis so light compared to hard drugs, will be part of the top screening for our dear French policemen ... Even in infinitesimal dose, and this is our problem since cannabis leaves traces not active in the organism for weeks ...
